A man who pleaded guilty to unarmed robbery faced no more than a year in the county jail but asked to be sent to prison instead to help his chances of rehabilitation. Michael Thomas Isaacson got what he wanted on Thursday when a judge sentenced him to 17 months to 15 years in state prison, all on the taxpayer dime of course

Intel claims the new Core 2 Duo T9000-series processors will give a "modest 5-12% improvement in performance" with no extra power drain. This is thanks to the move to the 45nm fabrication process, which allows more performance to be squeezed from the CPU without raising the already low 35W thermal design power (TDP).
